Day 14 Tuesday night/Wednesday Morning

Technically last day of habit project which is sad to me.  For this project has been a successon many levels.  The amount of participation is so much higher then in the past when everyone wrote their daily journals.  The support seemed to snowball with everyone as the project moved forward.  That support was not possible in past years.  I feel like more people this year had some kind of major awareness, whether it was a successful two weeks or awareness of what a bad habit is or where it derives from.  I will maintain the blog every night.  I hope you still join me in the workouts , the questions, and your continuation of the habit removal.  Now it can be used as strictly support and motivation instead of a grade.  I will also have certain homework assignments on the blog.  Nice job to those who gave and are still giving it full effort.  I truly appeciate it!!!

  8. Day 14: I think this project actually helped me. Now I kind of know WHY I bite my nails and I figured out a lot of ways to prevent myself from biting them. I also think I'm doing better with realizing when I'm biting them so i can stop. Anyway, as I was just typing, I was biting my nail. That's sort of ridiculous. hahaha. I stopped myself though! Other than that, though, I did a pretty good job today. Still gonna keep going with my challenge, Mr Phillips!

  14. Today i woke up late so I had one of those breakfast shakes. Wasn't really filling at all but I got through the day. I think the next bad hbit I should tackle is to remember to put my alarm on in the morning. Also something out of the ordinary happened today: I actually found a sport that I really like. The sport is golf.

  16. Day 14: Today is the last day of the habits project and I hope i will be able to keep up my good work of not swearing. I believe that if I keep my anger in check I will be able to stop swearing for good. I am glad I was able to keep my swearing to a minimum and at times even stop for a whole day , its real progress from how much I used to swear to now.

  17. Day 14
Over these couple weeks that this project has spanned, it made me feel ba about the amount of time on the xomoputer. real progress can be seen! So I thank you! It made me rEalize that I have friends rather than just the computer. So today, I spent little time on the computer. This project has changed my habits. But, now I have another habit to deal with procrastination!

Tonight for dinner I had pasta with sausage and pink sauce. The most tempting of them all! I am proud to say that I once again had NO seconds!!! After not having seconds for many days now, I feel healthier and I am not suffering from stomach aches from gorging myself with food. It feels great! This project has honestly helped me soo much and I am definitely going to continue with it. This has been the best project I've ever done!! Good job with breaking those bad habits everyone!!!

Awwww sad to see this project end :( Because of it, we've all come so far. Anyways, because it was the last day of the project, I wanted to endthe project on a sucessful note. Didn't do anything remotely lazy today. I helped mow the lawn and did some major spring cleaning. Hopefully I won't revert to being lazy after this project ends :)

  29. Rajveer with any haabit it is usually much easier to do the bad habit then to be mentally tough and strong. That is why there are so many bad habits. The gratifying part is the way you feel after a bad habit and good habit. Bad habits give instant gratification but long term stress and good habits may be tough at times but give long term happiness. Stick with them and you will feel great.

  31. Blog Entry 14 (May 10):
I had a very succesful day as I was very capably able to refrain from eating out of boredom. For example, I didn't have two powerbars today before swimming even though there was dryland (what swimmer call working out) today after practice. This (the fact that I only eat one powerbar) was good as I wasn't stuffed before practice and didn't feel dreadful during practice. Being stuffed today would have been bad as we had a "test set," but it really wasn't that testing though...but I guess that's because we had to alter it as the chlorine levels were bad today, making it hard to breathe after an all out swim (this tends to happen a lot at the JCC...). Anyways, practice was good, especially as Tom and I wrote warm up again today which was pretty crazy. And also we had dryland which was fun as we did a lot of crazy stuff like climbing up some wall to do pull ups from some bar in the celing...That was fun, but I'm relative sore now or I will be tomorrow. It's ag good thing I don't have a meet this weekend...I tend to go off topic in my blog as you can see...Anyways, I huge pasta again for dinner tonight which was so filling that I didn't even finish which hasn't happened since I don't know when, but I was able to stop myself from eating anything else as I was stuffed. To occupy my mouth's craving to be moving, I am chewing some gum which I find to be very effective, but I've read / heard (I don't usually read what I don't need to) that this can be bad for you, so I may have to stop. As always, I was able to occupy myself with homework and hopefully I'll get to read tonight which will be nice. However, I'm sad that the project is ending as this has been fun, I suppose. Also, there will be nothing to remind me to stop eating out of boredom... I think I may cry myself to sleep tonight because of this... Anyways, I really enjoyed this project as it was significantly helped me to avoid snacking. Lately, I have actually found that it has been easier to get out of bed in the morning...I have no idea how not eatign out of bordeom can effect this, but onlt since the project started have I been able to get up on time if not earlier, so, I don't know. Whatever. Anyways, el goodo de jobas on el projecto everyone! It appears that everyone did an excellent job (actually, I haven't read the comments and am just making this up. It just appears this way judging by the comments I've read...)! Good luck in the future with maintaining not following your habits!

  32. day:14
last blog of the project.well the past few days i did sleep before 12. i habit was goin really bad at first, but then it got better. this habit project was hard because some days i was sleepy but others i wasnt sleepy. the thing is that i did it, but is was difficult. i found a way to fall asleep was just to hear music. this helped me to sleep before 12, instead of being up and waiting until i was sleepy.

  33. Leighann your habit is something near and dear to my heart. I have struggles getting up earlier than I have to my whole life. I wish I could but bad habits of getting up late when I was in 8th grade and beyond still have a lingering affect. You need to find something to wake up for and it becomes so much easier. Thanks for working so hard and good luck with the early rising!!!

  34. Ericka I am glad you are doing better. In order to be sleepy at the time time every night you need a healthy routine. If you get up early sometimes and late others then going to bed will be tough to do at the same time. Also if you nap or are not active after school or on weekends then your body isnt going to be tired. Exercise is also beneficial to sleep. I hope you find the solution to what will get you in a routine of sleep.

Peter good job yourself. I guess you brought up the one regret I had with this project was that not everyone read each others responses. I enjoyed reading all of yours and learned a tom. Next year I will make it a part of the project. For those of you who did thank you. Peter I hope you maintain your habit removal and good job!!!

  35. Last day of the blog. :( well today was not the day that I was hoping it would be. It all started out with SS. Not good because we were taking notes. One of the few things I cant stand. I find taking notes to not be enjoyable. This causes my small attention span to make me get distracted and before I can even realize it, I have been biting for the past 10 minutes. So not at all a positive start. Then we had gym, where I had had no problems with biting my nails. Then we had science. YAY!!! except we had a test :( So I ended up biting my nails. Not good either. The only other time I bite my nails in school was during math. Only because we had a test. Not the day I hoped this project would finish on. But I definately think that I am getting better with nail biting. THANK YOU MR. PHILLIPS

  36. Sam I think we have targeted your nail biting habit times which is good. Bord-em and nerves. If you can find strategies at these times you will end the habit. Good work and good luck!!!

  37. day 14 (last day!): well... these past two weeks went by faster than I thought they would.. :D thought I'd end the last two days with my favorite thing in the world (no, not justin bieber.. I meant waffles because I was talking about breakfast). leggo my eggo :p if any of you hate waffles... it's your loss! They're amazing, I'm glad I decided to try and give up skipping breakfast because well: 1. It's not healthy to skip the most IMPORTANT meal of the day. 2. I'm not feeling sick at lunch time so I'm actually eating what was packed. so..... yeah. thankssss. byeee!

  41. Day 14
I managed to keep healthy food a part of my meals today and I learned how to make the best snack ever. It's basically spam, egg, and rice with ketchup and it tastes awesome. Having a healthy breakfast today, had a good snack yesterday, though my lunch could probably still need work. Over all I'm doing well.

This project has helped me wake up on time & early too. All i needed to wake up was a motivation, & every night i try to find one.. But on some days there were no motivations to wake up so i ended up waking up late... Today i kept waking up & going back to sleep, i wasn't feeling good so i just wanted to be in bed Sooo Yeaaa that was my morning
