The success of the blog

     I want to thank everyone for there hard work and dedication to this new way of communicating with each other, expanding the classroom to our homes.  It has motivated me to expand more in the future and I will never forget the blogs roots.  We will continue to use it to enhance our learning experience and I hope you have a ll enjoyed it.
     Thank you all for the kind comments, makes me forget about all the stuff I need to improve on for a bit which is nice.  Remember everyone is good at there core, I truely believe your decision can stray you away from that good.

Ben here's your extra work pal.  This really shouldn't be work though because there are so many nice things you can say about everyone in the entire 8th grade.  If you want to participate you must have at least one positive comment about everyone in the class.  So you comment about everyone or no one .  Can't wait to read the positivity!!!

Tuesday May 17th

Remember today we are bringing in one article of clothing for the less fortunate.  Again you can bring in more than one article if you would like to and I will bring it to salvation army.  Doing this will earn you 5 dollars.  Your other job is to complete a pie chart from any of the questions I have posted on this blog. To complete a pie chart by hand you must do some math.  Here are the steps.  First, you need a percent of each part of the whole.  Each part in this case would be each of the answers.  Second, change the percent into a decimal.  I hope we all know how to do this but I will remind you that all you do is take the percent and move the decimal point two places to the right.  Third, you must now multiple each decimal by 360, which is the whole of a circle.  This will give you the amount of degrees of the circle that each question is.  Last, you have to measure the angle of degrees from the center point of the circle.  The easiest way to do this is with a protractor.   If you use a computer to do the pie chart you will earn 5 dollars for the project.  If you do it by hand then you will earn and extra 5 dollars which some of you need.  You must include your calculations to obtain the extra five dollars, with a color coded key.  Good luck!!!

You first memory

What were your first memories?  I recall driving in the car with my mom asking her question after question.  I recall asking her if all the people at the cemetary were dead.  I remember preschool getting stung by a bee in the sandbox.  I remember being with friends that I still love to this day.  I remember holiday traditions that we still mimic today.  I feel like I have a great grasp on many memories of my youth.  I also remember asking my mom if I turn the TV off will Seaseme Street be in the same spot when I turn it back on, (imagine that with today's TVs you pretty much can).  All these memories swarm through my head but putting them in chronological order is very hard.  Tell us about your first memories and its details.  This will earn you $5 baby project dollars for Monday. Idea for baby project

Whenever you get the chance to give back to people who are less fortunate I suggest you take the opportunity.  I look at the baby project as a project that simulates huge responsibility.  I hope your all up for the challenge.  To earn $5 on MOnday for the project come up with one idea that the class can do to help out the less fortunate, are school, or a great cause.  Seven years ago I decide to raise money for Monseignor Scallon which the 8th grade presents to him as a class gift, an appreciation for all he does for us.  I want you to come up with your own CREATIVE idea that we can do together.  Have a great weekend and please take the time to really think about it.

Your first memory

The development during infancy is crucial for a young child.  Though we dont usually recall any of it, it paves the way for childhood.  Tonight what is your fist memory?  Where were you?  How old were you?  Maybe it is a specific moent, or an activity, or a person, or something else.  Share whatever you remember about your fist memory.

Baby Stats

At one point we all were cute!!!  Just kidding we all still are doing great.  Post your birth weight, length, time of delivery, and hair color (assuming you had hair).  The next few weeks will be fun but are very important to your final grade.  If you take everything seriously you will learn a lot about yourself and end your year with the grade you want.

Day 14 Tuesday night/Wednesday Morning

Technically last day of habit project which is sad to me.  For this project has been a successon many levels.  The amount of participation is so much higher then in the past when everyone wrote their daily journals.  The support seemed to snowball with everyone as the project moved forward.  That support was not possible in past years.  I feel like more people this year had some kind of major awareness, whether it was a successful two weeks or awareness of what a bad habit is or where it derives from.  I will maintain the blog every night.  I hope you still join me in the workouts , the questions, and your continuation of the habit removal.  Now it can be used as strictly support and motivation instead of a grade.  I will also have certain homework assignments on the blog.  Nice job to those who gave and are still giving it full effort.  I truly appeciate it!!!

Day 13 Monday night/Tuesday Morning

I am heading to the Celtics game tonight so I want some good reading material for when I get home.  I feel that some people are not reading other people's comments.  Part of this project was to aid each with support and suggestions so you should be reading everyone's posts.  Keep being creative with your strategies as well.  Go celtics and try out the new work out challenge!!!

Day 12 Sunday

Winding down the school year.  Lets all finish on a great note together.  Positive attitudes and hard work.  You will feel good about yourselves when you complete junior high!!!
