I have been teaching at SPCC since 2004. I love interacting with students everyday and working with my peers. I also love playing and coaching basketball, playing baseball, and golfing. I love being spontaneous and riding the wave of life where it takes me. I am also very proud to have the best wife, duaghter, and a brand new edition on the way in September. My parents are a driving force in who I have become and throughout my life I have had the best friends around me who love me for who I am. God has guided me in many ways that have turned into miracles.

Day 8 Wednesday Night/Thursday Morning

Yesterday was a great day of posts and I hope more people get after the daily workout challenge.  Remember it is a work out challenge so it shouldn't be easy.  Also remember to answer the poll question, there are still a few people who have not done so.  Have a great evening and Go Bruins!!!

  1. Today was a good day. Not too many urges to bite. Even when I was in actual class, which is usually when I start to bite because of bordom. I did bite a little. I got in one bite each time i started to bite but i stopped once i started. It feels good knowing that my nails will stop looking as wierd as they do. Thank you Mr. Phillips for this project. Ill post again later if biting urges come back tonight. Good Luck everyone durging the Musical!!!

  3. Today for breakfast I tried Amy's concotion from Mondays blog. It was a Waffle with a dab of butter and a sprinkle of sugar. It was extremely sweet and really good. Thanks Amy for the wake up sugar rush :-). Remember to post me what I should have for breakfast tommorrow morning just remember NO STRAWBERRIES.

    Today I didn't have an attitude I guess I'm just nervous about tomorrow but hopefully us girls will sing loud and proud ahaha I'm the new dr. Sues haha anyways but ya did good with the attitude today!! And just did the work oug challenge haha the squats and lunges wernt a challenge to me but the push ups were but worked through it ahah anyways good luck everyone on the musical tomorrow !!! Bye<3

  8. today when i got home from school i did my homework. then i went up to holy cross fields with Sarah and we ran and did exercises..i attempted to do 200 jumping jacks but i stopped at like 31 because i got tired. ahaha. might not go outside tonight but im not sureee..(:

  9. day 8 blog 8; today i did something new for this project, when i got home i was hungry but i didnt eat anything. i came streight home and slept for two hours. thts right i took a nap (: hahahaha then when i woke up i ate a supper of chicken rice and corn it was great! good luck everyone GO BRUINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No issues today. i went to soccer practice all the way across the city at vernon hill. yes so that took up most of my day home. maybe distractions are a good investment. if i find something to do instead of arguing, later i will become used to it and not do it. maybe. any1 think thats a good idea? i don't know. whatever. geez just remembered musical 2morrow and i AM NOT dancing with the audience. kk. have a good time i will try to bring my wii but i don't know. go bruins and bye!

  16. today was a good day. since we where on a tight schedule I didn't even think about biting my nails! the work a challenge is really hard I did all of it! right now I'm making cookies for the class to eat tomorrow at the musical. this I guess replaces silly putty! oh the timers going off got to go

  17. Day 8 log 8: I realized today why I am late for school. It is because my mom is always a little bit late to go. Now that I am getting ready faster, I see that she also doesn't get ready in time. I also have been doing good with eating oatmeal in the morning. I'm going to talk to my mom about getting ready faster so she doesn't get me late! I did the challenge from two days ago and today's.

  18. Day 8: Go Brunis / woke up at 07:10 took a shower & went to school. came home ate then used the Wii fit and did boxing for 6 minutes, ski jumps for 3 minutes, and ran 1.452mi.

    Good day. School was good. Got home, horrible weather, so I couldn't run.. so I worked out inside. Had a good dinner. No urges for junk. Got my hair cut so i'm looking......mighty fine(; pumped for the musical tomorrow. Now i'm going to do the workout challenge.
    P.S.. That was a weak workout challenge Mr. Phillips.

  24. Whatevr you want, if its not a challenge then up the weight, but make sure you are doing it right, injuries can occur if you over push yourself.

  25. Day 8 Blog 8:
    Today for dinner I had a fajita. It was quite yummy, especially with homemade guacamole :) I felt like this was my best day for this habits project so far. I had one fajita but I didn't eat the whole thing because when I felt that I had sufficient, I stopped eating. I feel very good about that decision. Now I must complete my homework and begin the new work out challenge!!

  27. Michaela i had two big plates of pasta. II failed on the portions but I was very hungry and didn't have a snack after school!!! Good job though I'm impressed.

  33. Day 8: I bit one of my nails today! :( At least it's the only one i bite anymore. i'm sticking to one so the other don't get messed up. i know, that's weak(: hahaha. I'm still working on it! I think i bit them because we had a lot of normal class today. Other than that I didn't really bite them!
    Okay, now i'm gonna do the workout challenge!

    Today was really lazy. I had a handfull of M&Ms before remembering I wasn't suposed to eat that. I didn't run today but now I feel like I should have, so now I feel really I lazy...

    I just wrote this long post and then something got messed up and it asked for my AIM account and didnt let me post so now i am mad. But my room is still clean even though i wasnt in it today. I was outside, doing the callenge, and watching the bruins. My favorite commercial right now is the Double Dream Hands one. Everytime it comes on i think of you mr. P.

  38. Day 8: today I spent about an hour on the computer which is not very good again. Today i went to a boy scout meeting to avoid from going on the computer, and i would of gone outside if it wasn't raining outside. So i will probably go outside when I get the chance but not tomorrow because I only have a hour at home before I have to leave for the musical.

  40. ate a vegan burrito at taco bell and didnt like it so i came home and ate ramen(sorry claudia). 2day was good like every other day. went shopping with my older sister who's going 2 columbia this fall so it was really fun cause we live in different houses so we dont spend alot of time 2gether but it was awesome being with her. b/c i was out with my sister 2day i didnt spend alot of time on t.v. im only gonna watch easy A right now and Andy told me it was wicked good so i cant wait!!!! ummmm(sorry Juliana) this morning i didnt have time 4 breakfast b/c i woke up wicked late so i took a 2 mint leaves and put 1 directly under my tongue and the other on top and just kept it there until the taste was gone. I did it b/c im trying 2 lose weight also and if you dont eat breakfast mint leaves create the illusion in your body of eating so your body doesn't store extra fat. b/c i was out most of the day i didnt get 2 exercise which was a bummer so i did do 30 crunches!! for lunch i had crackers and i had chicken salad and it kills 2 of my things b/c it had 350 mg of sodium but i ate an orange which is kinda good. so i guess we'll just see how the rest of the project goes <3 goodluck everybody and goodnight <3 =)

    Today was a pretty bad day. Had rice for breakfast, but no juice or anything. My after school snack was ham. egg, and cheese on a burger bun. Best meal ever. But it's Wednesday, aka, karate night, so we ate Micky D's, and the food made me sick. I'm feeling better now, but I'm really beginning to not like McDonald's. Going to go have a clementine now. Bye.

  45. Day eight blog eight- Today I said "um" twice:( I was really annoyed ecause I'v been doing really well. I think it was because I was talking quickly and not really thinking. Sometime I sort of forget but then I catch myself everytime! Which I guess you can say is a good thing. I'm going to continue to think about what I'm going to say before I actually say it! Musical tomorrow! Whoo (not) but I am quite excited for double dream hands!!!!!!!!!!! That is the best part. And im still kind of annoyed about being yelled at for not singing high enough. (which clearly I can't and I was trying hard)Anyways see you all tomorrow and then at the musical!!!

  47. Eighth grade you all need to think positive going into the musical. It's your last one and will be fun. DO not go in with a closed mind. You all sound great I think you have lost that in the midst of the frustrations. Sing your hearts out!!!

  48. Journal Entry 8: Today I only played 15 minutes of video games. Right after school I did my homework until dinner. After that I went to father Ubalds healing service. Then I watched Survivor. It feels great to get off of video games! I hope everyone else is feeling good!

Today i had A fajita for dinner with veggies, beans, and chicken. it was yummy but i think i ate a little too much today because i had subway which is actually a lot more food than i normally have at lunch so i wasn't that hungry. i think from now on i will not only limit my amount of food at dinner, but also at lunch and for snacks.

  51. i didn't have many snacks today. i only had cereal, a turkey sandwich, and pizza. i had eight slices of pizza. we don't have much food and after my work out yesterday i need food. sadly the only thing to eat was pizza. we r going grocery shopping and i already have a list of healthy snacks to get. i worked out for 1 hr today and still ran 2 miles even though it was kinda rainy. now i'm going to do the work out challenge.

  54. Blog Entry 8 (May 4):
    I, again, did just okay in trying to stop eating out of boredom. Seeing that we missed a large portion of lunch due to practicing the musical and counting pizza, I didn't eat much for lunch. Therefore, I eat the rest of it on the car ride home as I usually do. However, because I didn't eat much for lunch, I had like four snacks for my car ride home instead of the usual two. I eat a yogurt, granola bar, peanut butter crackers, and a powerbar all at once which I obviously didn't need. The powerbar or yogurt would have been fine as swim practice today was easy. Anyways, after swim practice, I had dinner, but I ate too much bread (I LOVE bread as I LOVE triscuits and peanut butter) because I was dreading starting my homework as I knew it would take a large portion of my time. However, the fact that we had a lot of homework was good I suppose as it kept me from eating anything else up until this point although I am stightly hungry now... ll I have left now is to read, do the exercise challenge, and then I'll be free to read this new book which came out yesterday called "The Throne of Fire" by Rick Riordan, the author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I hope the book is good so that it will keep me occupied and not bored; still, I don't think this is likely as books don't seem to intrigue me anymore. It's like once you read Harry Potter, nothing can compare and is just boring...But I have to read to improve my reading comprehension! Yay! It has been a good day, I suppose.   56. Sorry so late I fell asleep then woke up and was like Oh no my blog! Today I was supposed to have a softball game so i had a lot of bags but it was canceled :( oh well but when I got home I put my bags right upstairs in my room and put my clothes away! Today I believe I did very good i am proud of myself cause usually I put my bags on a bench or the stairs but not this time!

  57. Day 8:
    I had a really fun workout with lexi! we ran 1/2 football fields then i was slideing down the hill which was fun. then we went a football field and were doing random things like lunges and but kicks and kicks and jumping jacks and run to the 50 yard line break then ran the rest of the field it was fun. I ate some candy today so tomorrow i'm throwing away all my candy (in the trash). i'm planning on waking up tomorrow at 7 to study so i hope i do just that.

  58. Today was the same as every other day i got home did my homework... then i ate dinner meat with vegetables and some fruits... later on i went to work out and this time i spent less time because i added more weight and i wasnt used to it. :)

    everything physically is going right for me during this project. i feel more energetic, im getting better at running long distance, and i think im getting a little faster. i dont know for cetian its just a feeling. but i think that bcuz my body is getting stronger bcuz the lack of snacks and foods that are bad for me is being replaced with fruits and working out alot. and im very happy with the results so far. see you all at school

  61. Great job everyone!! Amazing how good good you feel when you change something for the better. Yesterday was a much easier day for myself. No practice and getting home right after school allowed me to actually eat a healthy meal and snack on fruits and veggies, instead of a snickers!! Good night of sleep for a change, good workout this am and feeling ready to go for another day of leaving at 7:30 in the morning and not getting home until later tonight. Good luck everone tonight at the musical and most of all HAVE FUN you are with your friends!!!

    Oops, fell asleep right when I got home. So, I forgot to post. D: Sorry, but.. I barely had time to go on the computer, which is a plus. This is really fun, and I think I'm getting better at the down time. Just need something good to do.
